Danta Manthana-Oral Health Session

Healthy teeth are important to children’s overall health. Strong oral care helps set good dental habits as the child grows. Untreated cavities can cause pain that may lead to problems with eating, speaking, playing, learning, loss in school time and also social unacceptability.

Hence an oral health session was conducted to access the oral health knowledge, attitude and practices among the orphan children at Balya orphanage.

Dr. Ashwin PS, MDS who is an educational consultant at Curaden India Pvt.Ltd delivered the session for around 50 children. The session included anatomy of a teeth, oral health practices, knowledge of oral health and attitude, dietary habits and behavior towards dental treatment.

Most of the children felt the necessity of maintaining oral hygiene and acquired knowledge on oral health.

The first step in establishing a habit is to provide relevant knowledge to the subjects and to raise the awareness of how to prevent diseases. Oral health education at right age can help to cultivate good oral hygiene practices in orphans which will benefit them for a longer time.
